About the event

We’re excited to partner with the team at Carter Hall Farm to offer this HANDS-ON workshop where you’ll learn how to raise and process your own meat chickens from start to finish!

In this workshop, you’ll gain the essential knowledge to successfully grow your own meat chickens. We’ll cover everything from ordering chicks and caring for them in their first weeks, to moving them to pasture and providing the proper housing. You’ll also learn about their daily care routine, how to ensure their health, and how to improve the quality of your pasture.

We’ll dive into the best feeds for optimal meat quality, and guide you through the entire butchering process, showing you how to do it in a clean and efficient manner. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to process your own chicken during the workshop, which you can take home to feed your family.

Each participant will receive both a physical and digital copy of our Chicken Processing Workbook, which will be a handy reference for you as you continue your journey of raising and processing your own chickens!

This Workshop includes:

  • A three hour hands-on class

  • An in-depth workbook (digital & physical)

  • A list of resources for all the equipment you'll need to raise your own meat chickens

  • One whole chicken to take home and feed your family

  • Bone Broth Kit

  • Custom Carter Hall Cooler Tote

Please come dressed in close-toed shoes, clothes you don't mind getting messy or stained, and be ready to learn! This event will take place rain or shine, so make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
